Blick Rebrand

Blick Art Materials was founded in 1911 by Dick and Grace Blick, starting with mail-order Payzant pens. After gaining recognition, the business expanded to include lettering tools, paints, and art supplies. Purchased by Robert Metzenberg in 1947, Blick now has 63 U.S. stores and is led by CEO Robert Buchsbaum.

About the Brand

My goal for the rebranding of Blick is to focus on fostering a space where artists can freely explore their creativity. Art is fun, versatile, expressive, and limitless. I want that experience to be understood through their new brand image in stores and online.

About the Rebrand

Since the color scheme is colorful, the logo is a paint palette. I aim to emphasize the diversity Blick values.

The Logo

The tagline reflects Blick’s commitment to offering a wide range of art supplies for every creative need. Since its founding, the company has been a leading provider for artists of all levels, including students, teachers, professionals, and hobbyists.

The Tagline

I curated a rainbow palette instead of monochromatic as I felt that a colorful scheme suited the meaning of endless possibilities.

Poster Designs

Alternative to the tagline “The Imagination Station” I wanted to feature the various types of products Blick sells in stores.

I wanted to feature some of history’s famous artists, highlighting inspiring quotes from them to inspire people to embrace their creativity and passion for art.

A contour art style matches Blick’s fun and inviting vibe while also showcasing the variety of products the brand sells.

Blick currently does not have an official app. This opportunity gave me free reign to design an app no one has experienced with Blick yet. The prototype features the basic functions one can do on the app: Exploring, Shopping, Making an Account, and Checking Out.
